A First Look at the 2020 Volvo XC40
Design
True to Volvo’s minimalist and clean design, the 2020 XC40 is a compact SUV that squeezes the most out of every detail to ensure nothing is wasted. The rear seats fold down to provide 47.2 cu. ft. of cargo space and a variety of smart storage features such as a foldout hook for bags or groceries, a wastebasket to keep your XC40 clean, and a compartment beneath the driver’s seat to store a tablet.
A laminated panoramic moonroof opens the cabin with light to show off the craftsmanship of its interior. The dash is uncluttered to minimize distraction and centers on a portrait-format touchscreen that even responds if you’re wearing gloves. LED interior lighting highlights key design features and adds a feeling of warmth to the interior even on dark, cold nights.
Performance
The base trim comes standard with a T4 AWD powertrain setup which produces 187 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque.
